Who we are

Studio47 is run by Shane Millar and Dillon O'Donnell. We work remotely, so there's no shop or office to visit. You can reach us by email at shanemillar1996@gmail.com or by WhatsApp on +44 7845 516973.

In these terms, "we" and "us" means Studio47, and "you" means the business signing up to a plan.

When these terms apply

These terms apply from the day you subscribe through our Stripe payment page and tick to accept them, or, for Business Essentials and custom work, from the day you accept our quote or proposal. Our plans are for businesses. By signing up, you confirm you are signing up for your business and are allowed to agree to these terms for it.

The plans

These plans are for one-page websites. Every plan includes your website, built and hosted by us. That covers a secure (https) connection, one domain name, your enquiry form, and fixing anything on the site that breaks. The plans differ in how updates are handled:

HostedCareCare Plus

You can move to a different plan at any time. The new price starts from your next payment.

The one-page build fee

One-page websites have a one-off build fee, which you pay after you've approved your preview. It's £149 on Hosted or Care, and £99 on Care Plus.

  • We'll send the fee as a Stripe invoice. It must be paid before your website goes live.
  • The fee covers designing, building and launching your website. It doesn't transfer ownership of the website's design or code. See "Who owns what" and "If you leave" below.
  • The fee isn't refundable once your website is live. If you've paid and we don't put your website live, we'll refund it.

Business Essentials

Business Essentials is a website of up to five straightforward pages, from £750. We'll confirm your scope, total price and ongoing costs in a written quote before work begins.

  • We can show you a free preview of your home page first. If you go ahead, you pay 50% of the build to begin and 50% before launch.
  • Two agreed rounds of revisions are included. New pages, new features and substantial design changes are quoted separately.
  • The 50% you pay to begin isn't refundable once we've started work. If we don't complete your website, we'll refund any amount that doesn't cover work already done.
  • Third-party subscriptions, premium software and transaction charges are confirmed separately.

Your care plan starts when the website goes live, and is paid monthly by card through Stripe:

Every care plan includes hosting, a secure connection, routine technical maintenance, and investigating and fixing faults on your website. Unused time and rounds don't roll over. Other content changes are quoted separately.

Ecommerce and custom work

We quote for these projects individually. Your written proposal sets out the requirements, delivery stages, build cost, ongoing support, platform subscriptions and payment-processing charges. Where the proposal differs from these terms, the proposal applies.

What counts as an update

An update is a small change to what's already on your site, such as new opening hours, prices, photos, contact details, a holiday notice or a new review. Send update requests by email to shanemillar1996@gmail.com or by WhatsApp on +44 7845 516973.

  • Hosted: each change costs £25 and is added to your next payment. We'll tell you the cost before we start. Several small edits sent together in one message count as one change if they take under 15 minutes in total.
  • Care: once every 3 months, send us everything you'd like changed, and we'll make it all in one go (up to 1 hour of work). Unused rounds don't carry over.
  • Care Plus: as many small updates as you need, under a fair-use rule. We work on one request at a time, and each request should be a small change like the examples above. We also keep the hours, contact details and photos on your Google Business Profile in line with your website (you'll need to add us as a manager on it). And we'll add a banner to your site for holidays, offers or closures whenever you need one.

New pages or sections, a redesign, new features (such as online payments or booking), photography, logo design and writing new content from scratch aren't updates. We'll quote for these separately and get your OK before starting.

Price and payment

  • Plans are paid monthly in advance by debit or credit card, through Stripe. Your first payment is taken when you sign up, then on the same date each month. We're not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
  • We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change. You can cancel before it starts.

Cancelling

  • There's no minimum term. You can cancel any time by emailing us at shanemillar1996@gmail.com with 30 days' notice. We'll confirm by email, and your last payment will be the one that covers your notice period.
  • Clients can't cancel through the Stripe billing page. Please email us instead, so we can sort out your domain and content with you.
  • When your last paid month ends, your website is taken offline. See "If you leave" below for what you keep.

If a payment fails

If a payment doesn't go through, Stripe will try again and we'll let you know. If it's still unpaid 14 days after it was due, we may pause updates. After 30 days, we may take the site offline until the account is up to date, and after 60 days we may treat the plan as cancelled. We'll always warn you before each step.

Who owns what

  • Yours: your business name, logo, photos, words and reviews, and your domain name. We register your domain in your business's name and manage it for you while your plan is active.
  • Ours (one-page websites): the website's design and code, and the hosting. While your plan is active, you can use the website for your business.
  • Yours once paid (Business Essentials): the complete website files, once your build is paid in full. The hosting stays ours, and third-party software stays under its own licence.
  • You confirm you have the right to use anything you send us or ask us to use from your social pages, such as photos, logos and reviews.
  • We only put facts on your site that come from you or your own pages. Please check your site when we send it, and tell us if anything is wrong.

If you leave

  • If you cancel, we stop hosting the website at the end of your last paid month. You keep your domain. It's registered in your business's name, and we'll move it to your own account with whichever domain company you choose, free of charge. You also keep your photos and words, and we'll send you copies if you ask.
  • Business Essentials: if your build is paid in full, we'll send you the complete website files at no extra charge, to host wherever you like.
  • One-page websites: keep yours with a one-off buyout. If you'd like to take the website itself with you, you can buy it outright for £300. We'll send you the complete website files to host wherever you like, and from then on they're yours to use and change.
  • Buying your website doesn't include hosting. Once your plan ends, we take the site off our hosting, and you can host the files wherever you like. If you'd rather we kept hosting it, just stay on any plan.
  • Need help moving it? For a one-off £50, we'll set the site up on your own hosting account (including your enquiry form) and connect your domain to it.
  • The one-page buyout is available to any client whose account is paid up. We won't hold your domain, photos or words back for any reason.

Our responsibilities

  • We'll do the work with reasonable care and skill, and fix problems we're responsible for as quickly as we can.
  • We use trusted hosting and payment providers (Netlify and Stripe). Short outages on their side can happen and are outside our control.
  • We aren't responsible for lost business, lost profits or other indirect losses. The most we'll ever be liable for is the total you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Enquiries and privacy

Messages from your website's enquiry form go to you. We don't use them for anything else. Your hosting provider stores them only so they can be delivered. You're responsible for how you use your customers' details.

We may show your website in our portfolio. Just tell us if you'd rather we didn't.

Changes to these terms

If we need to change these terms, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change. The version that applies to you is always the one on this page. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it starts.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Northern Ireland. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first. We'll do our best to put it right.
